The Academy
Draper Norton Academy was founded in 2008 by former professional footballers Mark Draper & David Norton.
Mark’s mission “We believe that talent at all levels should be nurtured & we should make concerted efforts to ensure players receive the recognition they deserve so that they may aspire to reach their goals.”


Mark Draper
Founder
Mark, our founder possesses over 500 professional football appearances. Many of which coming in the top flight of English football for the likes of Aston Villa, Leicester City & Notts County. Post playing career Mark is now using all his experience to help the stars of the future – in whatever way career path they want to take – by running the Draper Norton Football Academy

Denny Draper
Academy Ambassador
Denny is a young aspiring professional footballer for Leicester City Women. Daughter of our founder Mark Draper, Denny will be on hand to help us grow the women’s game at Draper Norton Football Academy.

Dan MacNamara
Head Coach & Tutor
Dan is a UEFA A license coach & has over 700 appearances under his belt in the non league for the likes of Ashton Utd, Ilkeston Town & Retford Utd. Post playing career Dan has worked at various premier league & EFL clubs including in there football education programmes including Sheffield Utd, Mansfield Town & Chesterfield. Now our lead tutor at DNFA, Dan is responsible for leading & delivering our BTEC courses.

Bill Bennett
Coach
Bill had a great career at many lower league clubs in Nottinghamshire, making his senior debut at 15. Post playing career Bill has coached at many professional clubs including Derby County & Burton Albion. Now a coach with us at Draper Norton Football Academy, Bill possesses a UEFA A license outfield as well as a UEFA B license goalkeeping.

Cieron Keane
Coach
Local Nottingham boy Cieron, a former Republic of Ireland u19 international, has enjoyed a great professional career with some big clubs. Including the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Notts County & Boston United just to name a few. Cieron, now playing in the non league sector has become a coach with us DNFA to help pass on his skills & experience to the next generation of football talents.

Draper Norton Academy is based at Nottingham Trent University & boasts brand new world-class facilities including a state of the art 3G pitch, gym, indoor hall, classrooms as well as pristine grass football pitches.

Qualifications We Offer
BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development is 120 credits & 720 guided learning hours (GLH). It consists of SIX mandatory units plus ONE optional units for a combined total of 120 credits. Equivalent to 2 A Levels.
BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development
The Pearson Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development is 180 credits & has 1080 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). It consists of SEVEN mandatory units plus FIVE optional units for a combined total of 180 credits. Equivalent to 3 A Levels.
BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Sport & Fitness
The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development is 60 credits & 360 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). It consists of THREE mandatory units plus ONE optional units for a combined total of 60 credits. Equivalent to 1 A Level.
